Van Thanh was born in the Mekong Delta.
He studied at the Soc Trang College of Culture and Arts (1996–2000) and later continued his training at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts School (2005–2010).
Guided by a Fine Arts Professor from London and through collaboration with an international contemporary artist, he developed his own artistic direction.
Only 11 days after graduation, he held his first solo exhibition at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts School, he held his first solo exhibition, presenting 45 works and five innovative painting styles, the result of years of dedication and research.
In the following years, he continued to learn from renowned Vietnamese artists and leading professors, further refining his artistic identity.
